For some time, our family has been trying to find out why our last name was changed from CRON to CHRON. In the 1880 census, my g-g-g-g grandfather was listed as ISOM CRON. However, his obituary in 1882 gives his name as ISOM CHRON. So we know that the name change occurred between 1880-1882.
