Geneva L. Chron (1911-1999)

A resident of Burton Place, age 88 departed this life on Fri. Oct 29, 1999 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral services will be held 11 am Mon. Nov. 1, 1999 at First General Baptist Church 1102 W. Hemphill Rd, Flint, MI with Pastor Pete White Officiating. Interment will follow in Flint Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the Hill Funeral Home 11723 S. Saginaw St. Grand Blanc, MI from 1-4 and 6-9 p.m. today. Mrs. Chron will lie in state at the church Mon. from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Genesys Hospice.

Jenny was born in Dexter, MO on 2/25/1911, the daughter of John and Maude (Davis) Anderson. She came to Flint in 1928 and was united in marriage with Vernon Chron (b. Scott Co, MO), on 2/23/1935. Jenny was a faithful member of the First General Baptist Church. Mrs. Chron was an employee of AC Spark Plug for many years. She and her husband were owners of Jenny’s Club Car on S. Saginaw St. for 25 yrs and she was also owner of Fisher Pantry for an number of years.

Survivors include: 2 sons, Bill and wife Mildred Chron of Burton, and Ron Chron and companion Jude Irwin, both of Grand Blanc. 6 grandchildren Jim Chron, Terry Chron, Judy Thibeault, Kathy Dawson, Perry Chron and Pam Borrow; 10 gr-grandchild, 6 gr-gr-grandchildren; sister-in-law Lucille Anderson, former daughter-in-law Marian Chron, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon on 1/23/1978, sister, Velma Wyatt; brother, Earl Anderson; great-grandson, Steven Chron.
