Jimmy D. Chron (1945-2020)

Jimmy Doyle “Jim” Chron of Burton, age 74, died Friday January 31, 2020 at his residence. Honoring his wishes cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Family has requested that those desiring to make a contribution in Jim’s memory please donate a blanket to a local chemotherapy center, or a contribution to the American Cancer Society.

Jimmy was born in Flint Michigan on September 18, 1945 the son of Billy & Mildred (Keen) Chron and has resided in the Burton area since 1966. He was joined in marriage to Dola Walterhouse on September 28, 1963. He served as Fire Chief of Genesee Station #2 for many years. He had been employed by General Motors as a Firefighter and had retired from Buick Motor Division.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of fifty-six years Dola, children: James and wife Teresa Chron, Gary and wife Dina Chron, and Greg and wife Wendy Chron. He also leaves his loving twelve grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren. Jim is also survived by mother Mildred ‘Millie” Chron, brother Terry Chron, sister Kathy (Art McArther) Dawson, brother-in-law Terry Thibeault, and a host of extended family and friends.
